    250-1799

Easy to install on my 2009 hyundai accent. 3 time now I have installed on a 2009 hyundai accent. This time I did Stull a little different. The brake like switch I made an adapter plug to go between the brake light switch and the factory harness with two leads coming off of it to just plug the two brake wires into the adapter instead of splicing into the factory wires. Also since the VSS wore goes into the obd 2 port, I bought a blank obd 2 plug and soldered a lead onto that so I could plug the vehicle speed sensor wire into that instead of splicing that wire as well. If the ob2 port is ever needed for diagnostics just unplug my adapter and plug in a tester. I did tap into a power wire for switched power and tapped into the wire for the NSS. I made adapters for quicker installation because I bought this vehicle in another state 1700 miles away and had to install it in the dealership parking lot before I headed back and needed to make things a little quicker.

Works Great - Not the easiest install

Posted by Phil on 17th Oct 2022

Installed in a 2008 hyundai accent with ABS It works great and having cruise control is amazing. Install, as others mention, isn't the easiest once you get inside the car. If you can remove the lower plastic housing of the dash (the lower sections below the speedometer, etc.) without adding a lot of work it would probably be worth your time. Additional difficulty was getting access through the firewall. The grommet is not easy to remove and I ended up knifing a hole through it. Wasn't clean or elegant, but it worked. If you follow my example, be very careful you don't cut any wires.

    Missing wires in the car

Posted by Gary on 14th May 2019

As commented by others, you have to know what you're doing or have a professional install it. I did it myself; took me about 8 hours. The hard part was getting my long arms (I'm 6'3") under the dash. My Hyundai Accent was so basic, two wires were missing. One was needed to detect when the car got shifted into neutral. That is not very critical and was okay to leave disconnected. The other was to get access to fused accessory power. I ended up buying a power plug with wires on it to plug into the cigarette lighter/power port. I called tech support 3 times. They were very helpful and quick. One note, the blue and brown wires that have to be put into the two-prong connector must be in the correct side. The instructions did not specify and I put them in the wrong side. Fortunately I checked before I powered it up, or I would have blown a fuse. Most of the time was spent getting the cable through the firewall grommet, trying to reach under the dash to the brake switch, and trying to find then work around the missing wires. But the car now has cruise control. Nice!

    Great Kit...Easy Install

Posted by Adam on 8th Mar 2014

I'm not the best mechanic in the world. In fact, I don't really have any mechanical skills at all. However, the instructions in the kit were very easy to follow. I have a 2010 Hyundai Accent, and the kit fit and worked perfectly. There were a few discrepancies between the wire colors in the manual vs. my car, but this link really helped: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/184-mc-2006-2011-accent/111751-cruise-control-install.html All in all, it took me about 3 hours to install. The hardest part was getting the harness through the firewall grommet. After that just laying on your back underneath the dash. But really, it wasn't that bad at all. I love the T-Taps! Takes all the worry out of splicing wires. Best of all...it really works well. I've tested between 35mph and 65 mph, and it holds speed just as expected. The set, cancel, coast, accel, and resume functions all work.
